Directions

To Use This Website as a Training Module:

The training module consists of four parts: Challenge, Focusing Questions, Knowledge for R.A.s, and Wrap Up. Review each of the four parts in that order.

  1. You will start with the Challenge, to assess your current knowledge regarding how to respond to various situations involving residents with autism.

  2. You will then go to Focusing Questions, which identifies a few questions that you should consider as you complete the module.

  3. Next, you will explore Knowledge for R.A.s, to learn important information you should know so that you can best serve your residents with A.S.D. This includes knowledge about autism, challenges for college students with ASD, R.A. best practices for supporting college students with ASD, and disability disclosure.

  4. Finally, you will finish with the Wrap-Up, which provides a final case study for you to examine and apply what you have learned.

At the bottom of each page, there should be a section that begins "If using this site as a training module" and will have orange "Click Here" buttons to direct you to the next part you need to go to in the module, just like at the bottom of this page. You can also use the 4 main buttons on the Home page to bring you to the 4 major sections of the module (Challenge, Focusing Questions, Knowledge for R.A.s, and Wrap-Up)

to begin the module, starting with the Challenge
